Taking the DIY route for contest prep has its unique set of challenges and rewards. Here’s what to keep in mind:
Time: Your Biggest Investment
The first thing to consider when going solo is the sheer time commitment. Mastering the nuances of nutrition, training, posing, and recovery to achieve a stage-ready physique is no small feat. While basic
fitness principles can help most people get in great shape, the level of conditioning required for a
bodybuilding competition is a whole new ballgame.
Achieving that lean, chiseled look for the stage is about more than just hitting the gym and eating clean— it’s about meticulous planning, experimenting, and refining.
